Job Description
AOL.com is currently seeking a Full-Time Programming Manager to join the programming team and lead the weekend publishing shift. The Programming Manager role is detail-oriented, curious and passionate about great storytelling. They possess strong multi-platform and digital content experience across creation, curation and distribution.
The Programming Manager will obsess over finding the best and most highly sociable content within category areas to delight and captivate our audience. The position works across general news/content programming and subject specific channel programming (such as news, entertainment, lifestyle, etc). The position is full-time in our New York or Los Angeles office, and is a great chance to join the ranks of one of the most highly-trafficked Internet destinations today.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who is well versed in digital, responsible, meticulous, motivated and passionate about all things web. The candidate will also work closely with the product team as attached to AOL.com.
Responsibilities:
• Day to day programming of AOL.com including everything from writing original content, curation of content, video programming, and new innovations
• Liaise with product team on key initiatives
• Identify and collaborate with key content partners that are critical to our robust content library to strengthen our programming
• Manage partner relationships with key publishers, bloggers, influencers in the space
• QA content, for quality, style, presentation
Qualifications
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of digital editorial experience; editing digital content and copy for high-traffic websites
• Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced, goal-driven team environment
• Very strong online copy writing and editing skills
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail
• Innovative and creative, curious and deeply familiar with the world of Web and online trends and memes
Desirable Qualifications:
• Familiarity and experience with complex web content management systems, information architecture, SEM / SEO tools, faceted classification and metadata
• A broad knowledge of, and an interest in, current events and pop culture
