Overview and Responsibilities
The VP, Creative Director leads a team of 5+ creatives that are charged with developing innovative creative campaigns that span across multiple platforms. This executive creative director will lead creative efforts for new and current series launches as well as strategic brand initiatives throughout the year with direct responsible for concept development, creative direction, and tactical executions across multi-platforms (digital, social, tv, apps and beyond). This critical creative role will assure MTV delivers pioneering, innovative, brand-defining campaigns that cements fandom and creates interest and urgency with a broad audience everyday.
Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor and inspire a world-class creative team, fostering an open culture that celebrates original thinking, innovation and creative risk taking.
• Lead marketing creative direction, assuring campaigns are on strategy, on brand and make noise with our audience – the creative lead for all conceptualizing, developing and execution of launch campaigns.
• Develop unique approaches to communicating our brand voice as well as breakthrough ways to deliver this distinct voice everyday to our audience.
• Partner and collaborate closely with marketing peers including VP Strategy, VP Design and SVP Brand Creative to ensure projects meet goals and drive desired results.
• Direct and manage over 30 creative launch campaigns per year including Brand Packaging, Brand Image, Reality, Scripted Drama & Comedies.
• Push the creative boundaries of traditional promotion and establish TV creative standards
• Attract, Retain and Develop top creative staffers internally as well as build strong external talent relationships to leverage by project.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 10 years of proven Promo experience and direct creative responsibilities within an agency, media company or in-house creative department. Agency side Copywriting experience a plus.
• Proven conceptual and Promo power-house with extensive track record of delivering world class multimedia creative. Proven big idea person beyond just TV.

• Exceptional production know-how, with hands-on knowledge of television promos, advertising, short form content – and proven creative leadership in developing creative for the digital space (social, video, app).
• Proven passion for MTV’s youth audience and a personal knowledge their ever-changing digital experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to make strong presentations and sell through ideas internally and externally.
• Highly collaborative and flexible. Values opinions and feedback.
• Exceptional conceptual and critical thinking abilities
• Articulates effective creative notes to team and the wider organization.
• Ability to perform in a fast paced, high pressure environment with the upmost integrity and respect for their team.
