DESCRIPTION:
The Rachael Ray Show is currently focused on digital audience growth and seeking a data-driven, yet creative, resourceful individual to help optimize and execute our video strategy in a fast-paced TV environment.
The ideal candidate has proven experience producing and editing web/social-friendly video content for a high velocity digital brand (and a passion for funny GIFs, too). In addition to re-cutting/re-packaging on-air (TV) show content for our digital platforms, you’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with the managing editor, social media producer and Rachael Ray Show staff to produce compelling, original short form food, diy, beauty, style, decor, organization + life hacks video content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat—in addition to pitching, producing, lighting, directing and shooting Facebook Live broadcasts.
Must be a native of the digital and pop cultural landscape with intimate knowledge of the latest and greatest in social media, content and emerging technology/platforms.
This is a non-union role that will collaborate with all functions of the Rachael Ray Show. Communication, passion and drive are key characteristics that will help an individual thrive in this environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Edit on-air footage/sound into digital-friendly clips using AVID Media Composer
Pitch, produce and shoot original digital-forward food and lifestyle content
Edit original video using Adobe Premiere
Work closely with the managing editor to optimize and execute syndication strategy
Liaise with internal legal and clearance department (and/or external parties as needed) to clear/get permission to use 3rd party material in digital clips
Write video descriptions and metadata tags for Brightcove and/or YouTube
Coordinate with show staff to plan, produce and shoot Facebook Live broadcasts
Set up basic lighting configurations for video and still shoots
Record sound for video shoots as needed
Take still photos on set of videos shoots as needed
Upload/organize video files on Mediasilo and/or server
MEASUREMENT:
This role will be measured on audience growth. Specifically, the key metrics which directly drive our top business goals.
Growth of OO video views on rachaelrayshow.com
Growth of syndication views on partner platforms
Growth of video views on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube

QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years experience creating video content
Proficiency in both Adobe Premiere and AVID workflows (extra points if you know Photoshop, too!)
A genuine interest in what makes content shareable and viral
Highly interested in food, recipe ideation, and other lifestyle video content
Strong understanding of video metrics and how that information can influence future concepts
Ability to work quickly and independently
Experience with DSLR cameras, sound and lighting equipment
On-set experience is a plus
Ability to take direction and work in a dynamic environment
A positive, curious, playful disposition balanced with a competitive drive -- you enjoy winning and really going for it
Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
Willingness to work early, late and/or on weekends, if necessary
Passion for pop culture and social media
Must successfully pass a background check.
