DESCRIPTION:
Produces multimedia news, information and lifestyle feature material for CBSSanFrancisco.com. This job is primarily editorial though also requires basic HTML knowledge and general familiarity with web-based content/publishing/production applications. Ability to react to and post breaking news quickly and accurately is among the core requirements of this position. Applicants must have strong copy editing skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties may include writing copy and editing text from television and radio scripts and wire services, editing and posting streaming video and audio, optimizing/cropping photos and other imagery, creating photo slideshows, managing user-generated content and adapting other material from bloggers and third-party content providers for the Web - all under deadline pressure. Producer will take editorial directions from the Director of Digital Media Operations and the Digital Managing Editor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and significant journalism experience along with Web skills preferred, as this is NOT an entry level position. Experience in a broadcast/online newsroom environment helpful, but may also consider suitable candidates with print backgrounds. Applicants MUST be strong writers with knowledge of AP style and good organizational skills.
