Job Summary:
NewsRadio KFBK 93.1 FM and 1530 AM is looking for the next great Editor of the KFBK Morning News. We need an experienced journalist who can write and produce newscasts in a fast-paced, demanding news environment.
To win this position, you must be not only a tremendous writer of clear, concise and conversational news copy, you must also have an innate sense of pacing and flow, demonstrate strong news judgement and social media skills and be proficient in editing both copy and audio, planning news coverage, assigning stories to reporters and making critical coverage deicisions for breaking news while keeping a four-hour live newscast on track.
In addition to that, you'll work closely with our Digital News Editor to integrate and complement coverage between on-air and online. And because your day begins at 3 a.m., you'll sometimes have to make the online part happen yourself, which requires impeccable news judgement and the ability to multitask without compromising the quality of either platform.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• At least two years of experience in news producing/editing
• A deep understanding of journalistic standards, ethics, and expectations
• Proven news judgement and expertise in local news
• Ability to find, develop and deliver compelling news topics
• Outstanding writing, editing and production skills
• Ability to enterprise new content daily and solve problems as they arise
• Clear, concise, and conversational broadcast writing skills and the ability to orally deliver on-air newcasts
• Consistently works hours required. Works more when required to meet deadlines or fill in including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
• Proven ability to handle stress
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two (2) years post high school education in journalism with skills in: writing, broadcast, news judgment, computers
• Two to three (2-3) years on-air experience with a proven record of on-air success which should include: Ratings performance, job stability and community involvement
An in-house audition under the direction of KFBK may be required.
