HR Operations background
Pearson is entering an exciting time in respect of the delivery of HR services to our employees. We are building a global HR Operations function, a key element of which is our move towards a shared services environment where we will deliver high quality HR services globally. Within our shared service teams we are looking for high performing HR professionals who will act as the first point of contact for our employees and who will drive consistency, accuracy and an outstanding level of service at all times. These teams will be the driving force behind Pearson moving into our new HR service delivery model. Role overview & Purpose
The Junior HR Manager supports the Global HR Leadership in leading the implementation and management of the HR Shared Services Centre processes to provide world class HR operational and transactional services to the organization ensuring that service levels and business case assumptions are met or exceeded. The role is responsible for providing HR leadership, establishment and follow up of a continuous improvement mindset in the HR SSC. It plays a key role as HR generalist on a wide range of HR activities including HR processes, team capabilities, employee relations, onboarding, compensation, development, and training to meeting overall business objectives.
Key Deliverables:
• Implementation of internal HR processes/onboarding/training strategy
• Enabling and facilitating HR SSC processes/policy changes
• Proactively applying knowledge by functioning as a HR Business Partner and expert in Human Resources technologies from SSC perspectives
• Proactively marketing and delivering value-adding interventions pertaining to SSC development, effectiveness and talent management
• Ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies
• Coordinating work to ensure best practices with all SSC team members
• Building relationships, transfering HR knowledge and achieving business goals; utilizing team training techniques to facilitate positive relationships with supported HR SSC teams
• Optimising and facilitating employee relationship and team-building
• Ensuring policies and procedures for compliance
• Implementing and following all appropriate HR processes related to ensuring accurate data including data maintainance in local HR systems
• Promote and implement defined Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Responsible for the implementation and execution of effective reporting mechanisms and ensure the delivery of appropriate services and support capabilities.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Professional experience within a Shared Service environment
• Years of working experience - 3+ years
• Demonstrated results in the development and implementation of a range of HR processes
• HR process and transaction experience
• Knowledge of HR metrics and their applicability
• Experience with HR applications and complementary HR software solutions
• Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management Tools and Techniques
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
