Position Summary:
The specialty Producer will be responsible for producing a variety of weekly programs within the Women's Talk and Entertainment Platform. The ideal candidate will be skilled at working with high profile/celebrity talent. The Producer should have terrific editorial instincts and will be responsible for determining show topics and guest bookings. Additionally, the specialty Producer will be overseeing the technical execution of the broadcast and should have experience in a LIVE studio as a board operator, call screener and audio editor. Some nights and weekend work is expected.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Research and conduct pre-interviews with guests and prepare materials for host.
• Collaborate with show producers and senior members of the programming team to generate interesting show topics and guests that will create lively dialogue that engages the interests of the audience.
• Plan segments, topics and develop editorial calendar for the show.
• Act as liason with marketing and digital departments.
• Contribute specials and event coverage and participate in breaking news coverage.
• Meet with the senior programmers on a weekly basis to review on-going goals for the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous production experience within radio and/or live studio environment preferred.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Excellent communicator.
• Strong experience in current events, entertainment, television, movies, books, celebrities, and pop culture.
• Experience using Audio and Video editing software.
• Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Exel and Powerpoint.
