We have an opening for an experienced, innovative, strategic Director, Product Management in our Columbus, OH or New York City, NY office. Does this sound like you?
Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, the Director, Product Management will be responsible for the conceptualization and development of online teacher professional learning resources for K-12 teachers across a variety of subject areas. Your knowledge of classroom teaching, educational technology, and product development will combine with marketing inputs to define solutions that are effective, engaging, efficient, and easy to use. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business managers, marketing managers, content experts, and our digital product group to drive the value and profitability of products.
Critical Functions:
• Lead cross-functional teams to conceptualize and design PD solutions across all disciplines that align tightly with market requirements.
• Envision innovative services and solutions that take teacher professional learning to the next level. Conceptualize synchronous and asynchronous digital products and services that engage teachers in rich and rewarding, professional learning experiences.
• Help achieve revenue goals by developing products that fully align with the market requirements and optimize cost efficiencies.
• Manage the development of digital products from concept to delivery, including collaborations with cross-functional teams, including content experts, technical project managers, and instructional designers to research, design, develop, and deliver our products.
• Present business case, including schedule, budget, and product requirements, in order to acquire funding.
• Act as product owner and central decision maker throughout the process of defining and building solutions, holding cross-functional teams accountable to the schedule and budget.
• Track competitive educational publishing and learning science landscape, keeping abreast of new innovations and developments in the market.
• Manage a team of Instructional Designers, fostering growth and development; encourage continual and iterative improvement in developing solutions that are effective, engaging, efficient, and easy to use.
A successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, or related subjects preferred, or equivalent years of work experience.
• Three plus years' experience in related role.
• Demonstrated understanding of pedagogy and the K-12 teaching environment.
• Strong program management skills, including budget and scheduling.
• Confident, objective, inquisitive, motivated self-starter.
• Must have proven ability to influence and negotiate across functional teams.
• Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects to deadline and budget simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of e-Learning solutions, including online multimedia and video; LMS knowledge helpful.
• Displays practical business sense, fiscal skills, and accountability.
• Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills; must be able to work in a collaborative environment, negotiate challenges, explain technical considerations and recommend solutions.
A successful candidate may have:
• Experience managing digital product development.
