About the role:
Foursquare is seeking a leader for our marketing function who will be an integral part of Foursquare’s management team, and play a crucial role in the success of our business.
You'll work directly with the executive team to strategically position the company and establish Foursquare as the leader in location intelligence. Foursquare helps make the real world more delightful for consumers as well as powering location solutions for leading developers, brands, and analysts.
The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and has full responsibility and direct accountability for the Marketing & Communications team, including Branding, Public Relations, Customer Acquisition & Retention, Customer Support and Strategic Consumer Marketing Partnerships.
You'll serve as the leader in developing and strengthening Foursquare’s brand identity, as well as building organizational capability around a wide-range of digital marketing activities. Specifically, this role will be a key partner to the B2B Marketing team, offering domain expertise and know-how for B2B use cases, across CRM, targeted acquisition, content marketing, PR, and site optimization for lead generation.
Our ideal candidate will be passionate about Foursquare’s brand and products, has both consumer and B2B marketing prowess, and will help communicate our value-proposition with great effectiveness and eloquence to the marketplace. We seek a highly creative marketing pro who is able to demonstrate innovative ways to build brand awareness and customer acquisition and retention campaigns as Foursquare continues its transformation into a location intelligence powerhouse.
This position is based in our New York City headquarters in SoHo. We offer a competitive compensation package including equity.
Responsibilities:
◦ Champion and drive the shared vision and language for the brand’s mission, for external communication and internal culture building
◦ Drive stable, long-term user growth in the US across Foursquare Swarm and Foursquare City Guide apps through ROI-friendly acquisition marketing and smart retention programs
◦ Lead the build out of innovative, scrappy integrated marketing campaigns to push across all consumer channels for increased brand awareness and positive brand sentiment
◦ Cultivate our strong SuperUser, Insider, content provider communities through innovative engagement strategies and optimized Customer Support.
◦ Collaborate with the VP of B2B Marketing on strategy and execution of the Enterprise website optimization, client CRM, PR, content marketing, and digital marketing expertise for lead gen to our B2B products.
Requirements:
◦ Solid track record of creating, motivating and developing high-performance teams
◦ Strong knowledge of mobile industries and best practices in content marketing, social and viral marketing, paid download channels, and related ‘growth hacking’ approaches.
◦ Good instincts to drive both branding creative and quantitative acquisition modes
◦ Experience developing a brand architecture for a company with multiple lines of business and products, whether a start-up or larger entity
◦ A true team player with unquestionable integrity and unwillingness to settle for anything less than excellence
