Responsibilities
Position Overview
The Information Technology division is led by Michael Bradshaw who serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for NBCUniversal. He is responsible for leading and overseeing global technology strategy and applications, corporate systems, infrastructure and operations for the company’s worldwide media portfolio. The IT portfolio includes technology for Broadcast and Cable TV, Universal Pictures, News, Parks and Resorts, Sports and Olympics, Digital, Media Labs, and Sales, Research and Analytics, and NBCUniversal’s International group.
The division is comprised of a team of technologists who are responsible for partnering with the lines of business to drive their individual technology strategies, as well as maintaining a solid core technical foundation, enabling the company to manage financial & HR systems, email, network, data and technical service centers, etc.
The VP, Global Network Services owner is a strong, collaborative, and highly visible leader responsible for all network technology services including LAN, WAN, Telecom, and Fiber. This senior leader drives excellence by championing continuous improvement, cultivating innovation, ensuring transparency, demonstrating clear alignment with business stakeholders, and contributing to the IT strategy, governance, and architecture.
Essential Functions:
• Own, represent, manage and innovate end to end network service offerings
• Ensures successful implementation of network development projects to timescale, cost and quality requirements
• Manages network services investment, provision and resourcing according to NBCU policy and procedures
• Ensures consistent delivery and operation of high quality networking solutions, services and support to internal and external clients
• Identifies, designs, implements and maintains effective policies, procedures, tools, techniques and plans relating to network service level management activities
• Align with Business partnership leads and BTGs to ensure close collaboration in the project delivery
• Align with service management units to ensure end to end service delivery
• End to end ownership of services in the following areas:
• Global Network services
• Telecom services
• Video
• LAN
• WAN
• Fiber
• Forecast, capture and evaluate demand for above services
• Develop relationship with other service owners and BTGs to understand and influence their strategies & priorities
• Define and advise BTG leadership on services and solutions, proactively brining new opportunities to improve efficiency, efficacy, and empower transformation through innovative & disruptive technologies
• Manage the delivery of all services against quality expectations of the business through continuous process improvement and quality planning & metrics
• Build relationships with vendors that provide services and influence their product roadmaps, as applicable
• Partner with Operations to help monitor and analyze implications for capacity based on demand and other factors to drive proactive service and enable maximum business continuity in a cost-effective manner
• Develop a set of metrics for dashboard reporting of overall above services, including a list of prioritized initiatives within the space
• Provide global direction and standards for Service Level Management, assisting all service owners to manage SLA & OLA lifecycle, and help to maintain a mechanism for tracking service level performance
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• B.S. degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Engineering or related field strongly preferred
• 15+ years in related field, with at least 3 years in a senior management role
• Extensive infrastructure technology experience, especially in the formulation of strategy and roadmaps, as well as associated standards, policies and frameworks
• Minimum 5 years experience leading complex project builds with proven performance to achieve on-time completion of projects.
• Solid documentation experience with Visio, Word, Excel, MS Project or related application
• Expertise working on a team with motivated cross-functional individuals focused on a common goal of delivering cutting edge solutions to meet aggressive business demands in an ever changing environment to achieve on-time and on budget completion of projects.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present ideas and communicate with senior leadership
• Ambitious and goal oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete
