CBS Interactive is seeking an experienced product manager who is passionate about mobile & emerging platforms products and driven to create exceptional experiences for CBS. The person in this position will be responsible for managing video player products and services for CBS Interactive's website, mobile & emerging platforms entertainment products, including overseeing regular updates and identifying opportunities for improvements and innovation.
Role & responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the video experience across website, mobile & emerging platforms entertainment projects for CBS Entertainment from concept inception through launch.
Collaborate with other Video Stakeholders - Video Operations, Ad Operations, Analytics and BI teams to solicit feedback and involvement for roadmapping, prioritizing and planning updates to the video player products.
Translate product vision, strategy and roadmap into product definition, epics and stories that can be communicated to engineering, QA and other cross functional site and app stakeholders.
Act as business owner for video products throughout their lifecycle and work to resolve bugs or issues quickly and efficiently. Be the first line of defense for issue validation and escalations.
Manage player upgrades, rebuilds and additional porting of players to new platforms.
Work with other product and marketing managers to maximize video entry points and playback opportunities to create growth and retention strategies for site, mobile & emerging platforms products
Interpret usage data and develop reports and presentations analyzing video trends and identify areas of improvement.
Act as liaison between wide range of internal clients, including Product, Legal, Ad Operations, and Marketing
Be an in-house video expert; stay up to date on the latest trends in streaming players, mobile, connected devices and other emerging platforms
Operate both independently and as part of a broader team; juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a results-oriented environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Extremely motivated and detail-oriented individual who is energized by big challenges
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates passion for the digital video market with solid understanding of the streaming video ecosystem and experience with streaming media players(Live and VoD)
Able to write PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria for small and big projects
Hands-on experience working with SCRUM or other agile development methodologies a major plus
3+ years of experience in online or mobile project management, product management, or product marketing with some understanding of consumer research, product strategy, pricing, and online promotion
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Deep Knowledge of at-least 2 or 3 platforms : Desktop or Mobile site, iOS, Android, OTT and Consoles
Strong technical background or ability to comprehend and communicate any technical dependencies and requirements for product development
Preferred:
Experience working with analytics(ex: Omniture, Nielsen) and advertising products(ex: Google DFP)
Experience working with video performance and measurement tools and QoS products
Experience working with Video CMS and program guides
Has written code in the past (HTML,CSS, Java) or has any technical background
Familiar with XML, HTML, Photoshop
Familiar with UX/Wireframing with Omnigraffle, Invision or other tools
Familiar with QA tools like Charles Proxy, Wireshark etc.
Comfortable with drafting usage/revenue forecast models - working with Excel models or Analytics dashboards
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in software development, product management, or equivalent experience preferred
Must successfully pass a background check.
