Job Description
Meredith Xcelerated Marketing (MXM) is seeking an intern to join our Social and Mobile team in the Washington, D.C. office. This internship presents a great opportunity for the right candidate to further develop their career and understanding of the marketplace and industry. This role will provide support to the marketing team through a variety of responsibilities and larger projects providing a well-rounded immersion in a leading digital, consumer engagement agency. We are interested in candidates who have recently graduated and/or are available for a full-time internship via a college or co-op program.
Major projects (for co-op programs):
Each intern will be responsible for completing at least one major project throughout the term. This body of work will ensure that the intern has a significant task to their credit that will help MXM drive the business forward. It will also ensure that the intern has an outlet for any downtime that may occur throughout the work week.
Internship requires availability of a minimum 30hrs per week, preferably 40 (full-time).
Essential Job Functions
• Assist with the preparation of marketing materials.
• Maintain, develop and post content for MXM’s clients’ social channels.
• Work with team to develop and update case study materials.
• Monitor competition and provide industry news, tracking trends.
• Assist new business leaders by providing general administration support as required.
• Conduct research into how brands are using social platforms.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
All must be met to be considered
Education:
• Currently enrolled in accredited degree program with a focus in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field.
• Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
Experience:
• Passion for social media and mobile marketing a must; Prior internship experience in similar capacity preferred.

• Strong leadership, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Good attention to detail, excellent spelling and grammar.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good presentation skills.
• Strong research skills across platforms and channels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Design background and/or experience with Adobe Creative Suite (preferred, not required).
