IT Risk & Compliance Department Intern 2017, Corporate IT
The Information Technology Risk & Compliance (iTRAC) department is a part of the Office of the CIO in Sony Pictures Entertainment. iTRAC is responsible for communicating compliance objectives and priorities to the IT organization, promoting a culture of compliance accountability within the IT organization and supporting IT teams to deliver compliant projects. The team is well versed with company policies and procedures, and has strong knowledge of the various processes, technologies and controls within the IT organization. The team currently consists of a Director and two Managers.
Responsibilities:
Please capture projects, day to day responsibilities, and what the intern will have an opportunity to learn in this role.
• Participate in the development of key control matrices, process narratives, and flow charts for critical IT business processes
• Manage the department SharePoint site, solicit changes and enhancements from iTRAC department staff, implement requested enhancements
• Attend project advisory meetings with iTRAC department staff, record meeting minutes and action items, and distribute to department staff
• Gather and document compliance and security requirements to support process development and compliance reviews
• Review information security policies and standards to identify controls, support iTRAC department staff with assigning controls to other IT departments
• Participate in compliance review meetings conducted by iTRAC department staff and perform testing procedures to support compliance reviews
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation activities, including walkthrough meetings to understand business processes, documenting control activities, monitoring progress of audit remediation plans, etc.
• Conduct research internally (security policy) and externally (industry best practices) to support advising IT departments on process enhancements that achieve compliance objectives
Qualifications: Requirements for the role (technical skills, educational requirement, interest or coursework)
• Strong communication / writing skills
• Academic studies in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other Information Technology subject matter
• Desire to learn and make an impact
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Self-starter requiring little supervision
Program Information:
SPE’s Summer 2017 Internship is a 10-week full time program with two session starts, June 12-August 18 or June 26-September 1, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for 40 hours per week for the full 10-week session.
