We are searching for a dynamic Editorial Assistant who will take part in every aspect of the product development experience. In this role you will support the acquisition editors from initial idea to contracts, reviews, production, and marketing launch for books, videos, and other learning products. Assisting with competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external reviews, you will work with a cross-functional team across marketing, sales, communications, legal, royalties, product support, and more.
Position can be based at Indianapolis, IN, or Hoboken, NJ, site locations.
Here is what you will get to do:
• Coordinate review programs for titles being developed by the editors
• Perform preliminary analysis of reviews for the editor
• Prepare author deliverables for production
• Serve as a point of contact to internal departments for editors’ publishing programs, including Royalties, Contracts Administration, and Production
• Serve as a point of contact for Authors, fielding requests concerning schedules, royalties, and honoraria
• Create and maintain records in the PCS database, managing the creation of ISBNs, generating contracts, overseeing payment of honoraria, grants, advances, and other related expenses
Qualifications
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 1-2 years of related experience/training
• Working knowledge of office productivity software, including Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, email, and browser-based applications
• Exceptional ability to communicate (verbal, written, digital) effectively and respectfully with a diverse group of professionals; managing priorities to meet deliverables
• Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
