DESCRIPTION:
Minimum 5+ years General Sales Manager experience in foreground radio. Must know how to motivate in today’s changing environment, can manage inventory as well as people, and bring new ideas to generate revenue. Strong background in Strategic Account Management, sales training/leadership, pricing and budgeting required. 4 year degree preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Responsible for day-to-day station sales operations and achieving revenue goals.
• Effectively manage the station sales department inclusive of managing inventory, pricing, hiring staff, and maintaining market visibility.
• Create spot, non-spot and digital sales opportunities.
• Establish overall tone and direction of department and set department priorities.
• Attend face-to-face calls with Accounts Executives.
• Control and manage department expenses.
• Motivate and train staff.
• Provide weekly revenue/pacing reports to Director of Sales.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle required.
