The Global Media Operations (GMO) team provides order management and workflow tools and services to organizations throughout NBCUniversal including Universal Pictures Group, NBC News, NBC Sports, USA Network, SyFy, Bravo, Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and local TV stations.
As part of the GMO organization, the AMP team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the tools for the automation of streaming tasks, encoding tasks, and the archiving/retrieval of stored media; assisting with support of existing proprietary products, third party applications, media server infrastructure and researching new tools and standards for our business. The Product Manager will help drive VOD product roadmaps, enhance existing workflows, identify process improvements, provide strategic recommendations, and lead cross functional technical and operations teams to design, build, and launch new products and execute on new initiatives to deliver content across multiple consumer experiences and devices.
Responsibilities
Oversee multiple product roadmaps, emphasizing on features that make tools friendlier, more automated and deeply integrated with Broadcast Operations workflows
Own the product roadmap for the Mediator workflow system
Identify solutions, product requirements and execute on critical initiatives for content supply chain, from order management to fulfillment and delivery to Broadcast, STB, MVPDs, OVDs, SVOD and TVE partners
Develop specs and requirements for enterprise level broadcast workflow and media management products
Manage development team efforts, sprint planning, testing and product rollout
Scope and collect customer requirements, provide guidance on best practices and applying technology and product knowledge to address customer needs
Project manage system and solution rollouts and define processes for ongoing operational support
Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders, partners, technology stakeholders in running POCs and demonstrating value of proposed workflows and technical solutions
Lead cross-functional teams and serve as key communication contact with external partners in the assessment, development, integration, and delivery of new interactive applications and platform enhancements
Responsible for product stability – primary lead on engagement/escalation for support teams and influential on enabling a sustainable infrastructure by presenting the operational growth
Responsible for vendor engagement
Responsible for product release cycles
Responsible for approval of any build to the development team

Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum 2 year experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, or analytical skills
Minimum 2 years experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project management, and strong formal presentation abilities
Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with emerging media technology products and project management
Minimum 2 years experience in product development, including requirements analysis, specification development, user design, and implementation
Experience in enabling customer workflows and operations
Experience managing large, complex initiatives to on-time completion in large matrixed organizations
Desired Characteristics
IPTV, Cable, Content Provider, CDN and/or STB experience
Direct experience developing mobile and desktop software
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and deliver fun, creative experiences in the digital space
Experience with Flash, interactive media, mobile design & app development from initial design through application launch
Experience within Technical Operations, Broadcast Engineering or Information Technology with proven success in a variety of process improvement and software disciplines
Experience with digital media concepts: encoding, transcoding, streaming, media formats, media transfer technologies, etc
Experience with media management systems and workflow tools for the creation and delivery of Broadcast & VOD content
