DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
Support the production accounting systems across multiple environments (production, test, development and disaster recovery). Work with business owners to clearly define business needs and to create a better understanding of the associated business value. Analyze business/user requirements and identify potential risks or interdependencies that need to be accounted for in the implementation, enhancement or development of financial systems. Facilitate and coordinate project prioritization to ensure efforts with meeting the organization’s strategic goals and objectives. Assist in coordinating, evaluating and analyzing operational and functional process efficiencies for financial teams and financial systems. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement with system functionality and system processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner with business owners and production managers to determine, define, analyze, document and communicate the objectives, business requirements and priorities for financial systems and solutions. This includes the identification of any risks and/or interdependencies.
• Solicit client requirements through interviews, workshops and/or existing systems documentation or procedures
• Plan, execute, and document fit-gap analysis, application configuration, deployment, data migration, and integration
• Lead design discussions, identify design options, and provide UI mock-ups
• Facilitate communications within the team and with other teams to develop realistic timelines through efficient organization, planning, and monitoring of tasks and deliverables to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Work with technology teammates to design, implement, enhance, automate, and maintain financial systems and processes.
• Perform root cause analysis on production support incidents and/or problems associated with financial systems.
• Create clear, effective and timely communications to share project results/outcomes with teammates, business owners and production managers.
• Manage vendor communications for projects and support cases.
• Create, documents, and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure the solution meets functional and non-functional requirements.
• Generate appropriate documentation for projects, recommendations, and implementation procedures.
• Develop and maintain current knowledge of the media and entertainment industry, and assigned financial areas. Improve understanding of financial system tools, practices, and methodologies.
• Incorporate continuous process improvement into all project, support and testing efforts.
• Serve as project leader on projects as needed, dependent upon size and scope of project and availability of resources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
• Five to seven years’ experience researching, analyzing, supporting, and developing solutions for complex business systems/applications.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting, finance and computer applications. Clear understanding of ERP and other financial systems.
• Significant analytical experience related to business/systems analysis and process improvement in complex situations.
• Expertise in utilizing SDLC methodologies as part of application development/configuration and quality assurance.
• Preferred experience includes two or more years working with Finance or Accounting processes in production/post-production.
• Ability to relate user stories to technology implementation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Visio and Project
• Familiarity with database concepts and experience generating database queries, data files, and reports.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in data querying tools, such as SQL, MS Access, and Excel.
• Ability to perform data mapping between multiple databases and data extracts.
• Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to utilize data to recommend solutions and drive strategic business decisions.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs and/or other work related activities.
• Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal customer needs related to the job.
• Ability to understand and explain various subject matter and consult on concepts, programs, terminology and methods.
