Job Description
The primary role of the People Solutions Intern would be to assist the team in providing efficient and quality customer service to all managers and employees for issues ranging from self-service functionality to basic HR inquires.
Responsibilities would include the following:
• Handle basic HR inquiries generated via phone and or e-mail from current and former employees, with a focus on current benefit plans and changes during the annual enrollment period
• Coordinate with the People Solutions team to ensure that answers to inquiries and customer service delivery is aligned with plan provisions, in compliance with legal and statutory requirements and company policies
• Document case issues utilizing a consistent set of tools and methodologies established with People Solutions
• Initiate cases and/or facilitate warm transfers of more complex issues to other tiers or HR staff as needed
• Communicating solution/ action plan to employee and providing sufficient follow up as needed to ensure the inquiry is effective handled
• Adhere to performance and service metrics established for the Solutions team
• Support documentation processes for employees such as life event changes, updating records, filing, tracking issues, etc
Qualifications:
• Must be currently enrolled in coursework with an accredited university or college
• Ability to work 40 hours per week in the Dulles, VA office from June through August
• Desire to ultimately be in the HR Industry
• Comfortable being in an employee-facing capacity
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using Excel, PPT
• Not required but preferred experience using PeopleSoft
• Ability to work with confidential materials and information
