Responsibilities
MTP Daily brings the insight and power of Meet the Press to MSNBC weekdays at 5pm ET.
Join the MTP Daily team as a Booking Producer and contribute editorially to "Meet the Press Daily."
Job Duties
Book and produce high-profile national and international newsmakers, experts and guest in politics, foreign relations and business/economy
Conduct pre-interviews and coordinate with segment producers on suggested questions for anchor
Work with Technical Production Manager and Director to secure facilities for remote and in-studio interviews
Arrange transportation for guest
Communicate daily story development with senior producer and executive producer
Develop and manage long-term booking plans as well as secure competitive day-of and breaking news guests
Field produce special events and segments as needed
Take part in and lead daily guest planning, coordinate with Sunday show
Enterprise new guests
Pitch segment ideas
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Journalism, Communications or related field
Must have at least 5 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV), 2 years in political journalism
Thorough knowledge of American and international politics and strong writing skills are a must
Must be willing to work in Washington, DC or NYC
