The Manager, International Marketing will provide exploitation services to the Latin-Iberia region of Sony Music. The role is responsible for the development and execution of international marketing and promotion campaigns for Sony repertoire. This position is based in Miami, Florida.
Responsibilities:
• Operate as the lead International Marketing contact for Latin Region, facilitating marketing operations and communicating as necessary across the team.
• Consult with both potential clients and international Sony Music companies to determine their marketing objectives and present, deliver, and sell integrated programs that will meet these objectives. These programs will predominantly focus on brand platforms, promotional media, and event-based assets.
• Position Sony Music as the preferred music content provider for all Sony family marketing activities.
• Secure strategic placement for Sony Music content across the Sony family’s various retail assets, advertising campaigns, hardware distribution and dedicated music platforms.
• Create new opportunities by sharing best practices between markets and leveraging our network of Sony relationships between global, regional and local offices.
• Work with label, artist management and foreign markets to develop launch plans, ongoing marketing campaigns and artist development strategies for signed frontline releases.
• Manage release planning of commercial and promotional physical and digital products.
• Create album and single based products for promotion and commercial exploitation overseas.
• Create non-music based promotional and commercial content such as generic interviews, track by track, epk’s TV spots, audio and video id’s, behind-the-scenes and b-roll video footage for international exploitation.
• Help affiliates from over Latin-Iberia region clear and source content for local promotional, co-op and retail initiatives, and coordinate production and approval process for all artist products.
• Oversee int’l tour marketing activities including facilitating ticket and interview requests, radio shows, and radio visits.
• Document and report progress and sales to VP, affiliates, senior management and artist management.
• Prepare marketing and artist related materials for senior management presentations, as requested.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field.
• 5-10 years related experience in areas such as: marketing, promotion, event planning, tour marketing, publicity, digital. Music industry experience preferred.
• Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish languages, with expert level of proficiency. Portuguese language skills are considered a plus.
• Must be “fluent” with technology / avid user of mobile and computers; PC (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc); Mac OS (keynote, itunes, etc).
• Strong knowledge of Social Media; Comfortable reading online analytics.
• Recommended Sony Systems to be familiar with: SAMIS, NextBigSound, PRS, GLORES, Digital Exchange.
• Ability to travel internationally frequently (approximately 50% of time).
• Multicultural sensibility and tolerance.
• Strong social skills; ‘Roll with the punches’ attitude; able to deal with big personalities, artists and the like.
• Must thrive in high volume, high energy work place and environment. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail oriented, organized, timely and accurate.
• Given time differences, off hours work is to be expected. “Always available” attitude.
