Overview and Responsibilities
MTV’s college brands, MTVU and RateMyProfessors, are looking for a self-driven Social Media Manager to engage their college audience. This person should be experienced in growing millennial audiences and should have a deep passion for pop culture and all things college.
Responsibilities
• Research, create, schedule, and post content across MTVU’s and RateMyProfessors’ social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Snapchat.
• Curate content, skillfully determining what to post and when to post it.
• Conceptualize and create impactful and sharable images.
• Work closely with programming, editorial, video, and product teams to strategize new social media content and campaign ideas with an eye toward driving user engagement and reach.
• Manage all social media reporting and analytics, including referral traffic to web properties.
• Work with Data Science team on optimal social media marketing strategies and implementations.
• Stay current on new platforms, products, tools, and trends.
• Field customer service questions posted to social platforms.
Basic Qualifications
• 3-4 years of work experience in social media and/or digital marketing with ability to speak to past success
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong grammar and editorial skills
Additional Qualifications
• Thorough understanding of SEO
• Strong Editorial and Copywriting Skills
• Visual Intelligence
• Ability to spot patterns and trends.
• Proficient with social media tools
• Detail Minded
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once
