Job Introduction
The Production Co-ordinator provides logistical and co-ordination support to the production team on one or more productions, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Radio & Music Production is part of the BBC Radio and Education. The departments which make up Radio & Music Production are: Arts, Docs and Drama, Factual, R&M North, Radio Religion & Ethics, R&M Bristol, and R&M Operations. Together the departments employ some 550 staff on seven bases in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Salford.
Role Responsibility
This role is to work with the Religion & Ethics team in Salford which produces a broad range of programming across Radio 2, 3 and 4 including ‘Good Morning Sunday with Clare Balding’, ‘The Moral Maze’, ‘The Daily Service’, ‘Sunday’, ‘Choral Evensong’, ‘Beyond Belief,’ ‘What’s the Point of…?’ and ‘The Sunday Hour’ as well as covering large national events and producing award winning documentaries.
You will join a team of 5 other PCs working across both factual and worship network output and reporting to the PM.
The Ideal Candidate
You will need a demonstrable interest and enthusiasm in Radio Religion & Ethics Output, preferably with experience of working with live timings /backtiming on radio output. You will also need experience of maintaining programme costings on SAP/BPC and forecasting future programme costs. Experience of working on Radio outside broadcasts is important. You will also need strong planning and organising skills and ability to work across several projects simultaneously.
