Job Introduction
BBC World Service provides a focal point for viewers and listeners around the world, attracting a combined global weekly audience of over 320m. The government has recently invested in a series of initiatives which will enable us to transform our services, bringing our trusted and impartial news to more of the world.
We are seeking a Marketing Manager to be responsible for all on-air promotions activity on BBC Arabic TV.
This is a continuing contract based in London.
Role Responsibility
Reporting to the Head of Marketing for World Service, you will be responsible for the Global On-Air Media Plan, working closely with the Presentation and Planning team to deliver and improve the TV output – and in particular on-air promotions. You will take accountability for on-air architecture and will have a creative and strategic overview of the look and feel of the channel, taking a full channel/junction approach. You will optimise channel flow on World Service TV Channels aligning other BBC news channels using best practice and effectively marketing content to audiences.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable On-Air TV background leading creative and media planning teams. Experience in channel rebrand and migration projects is essential. You will have substantial knowledge of managing complex marketing campaigns in an international context, within the television industry would be a distinct advantage. A track record in the creation of marketing plans and campaign briefs which address commercial objectives and overseeing the delivery of brand campaigns is important.
