Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor will oversee housekeeping and setup operations at venues and events in the Convention Center and Antiguo Casino. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day operations and working with the Director of Operations to ensure all event needs are met. This position will work closely with staff to provide a high level customer service in order to ensure a friendly, safe environment at all events and assist with planning and cost estimates. Additionally, the Operations Supervisor will handle housekeeping and setup daily supervision, oversee equipment and supplies inventory, and provide input on venue improvements.
Essential Duties
•Supervised all activities and personnel engaged in day to day operations at Convention Center as it pertains to the Operation Section. Assures facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
•Oversee cleaning, landscape, and floral contracts with regards to personnel staffing and job performance.
•Review event notes, and take a leadership role in the setup and breakdown of chairs, tables, pipe and drape, rubber matting and carpets, giveaways, etc. Additionally working with the Events department in setting up and converting exhibit halls, conference rooms and banquet rooms as necessary from event to event.
•Training, supervising, and evaluating departmental personnel and service providers.
•Establish and maintaining effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, patrons, clients, service providers and corporate sponsors
•Managing third party service providers by enforcing the agreed upon scope of services within the various signed service agreements.
•Procure Operation equipment including tables, chairs, platforms and other equipment.
•Continuously review the departmental needs and recommend repairs, maintenance or special projects
•Creating and implementing purchasing and inventory control systems as it relates to consumable items, tools and equipment within Operation Services
•Projects as required by Director, Operations
•Responsible for the Master SDS log in the building
Required Qualifications
•A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year)
•A minimum of 5 years of related work experience
•Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to learn required business systems
•Must be able to work independently to accomplish work objectives, as well as in a team environment
•Experience supervising, coaching, and or leading productive teams
•Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels
•Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
•Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
•Experience in Housekeeping and landscaping administration contract
•Ability to work in all weather conditions
•Back strength and leg coordination involved such as climbing, carrying, stooping, crawling, pulling, bend, pushing
