AEG Live is also the largest producer of music festivals in North America from the critically acclaimed Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival to Stagecoach Country Music Festival and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Under the general direction of the Director of Production, the Sr. Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily staffing and operations of the production department for Best Buy Theater. Scheduling and supervision of part time staff (including but not limited to runners, PAs, merchandise sellers) and union labor will be managed by the Sr PM under the purview of the Director of Production. The Sr. PM will be responsible for coordinating and advancing the production and catering/hospitality needs and requirements for all concerts and rental events with the ability to negotiate agreements that provide a quality production in a cost-effective manner. The Sr. PM will be accountable for assisting the Senior Director of Production on a daily basis as directed and for hiring and training event staff for areas under responsibility.
Essential Duties Include:
1. Manages stagehands and production support staff on all concerts and special events under the direction of the Director of Production
2. Review technical riders and discuss production requests and requirements with artist representatives and renters in conjunction with the Director of Production
3. Advance and arrange catering and hospitality requirements directly with artist representatives and renters
4. Identify potential problems or staging issues and resolve said issues in a timely manner
5. Show and artist hospitality and merchandise settlements for concerts
6. Liaise with security for all concerts in accordance with tour requirements and venue obligations
7. Conduct periodic review of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Assist the Director of Production in evaluation and purchase of goods and services as required.
8. Manages the inventory and ordering of expendable items
9. Liaison with vendors, property management company, NYPD and immediate community in execution of shows and events
Required Qualifications Include:
1. A minimum education level of: Associate of Arts/Sciences Degree (2-year)
2. Years of related work experience: 5+ years in entertainment production
3. Must have the ability to work varied shifts including evenings, holidays and weekends
4. Must have strong knowledge of all Back of House Operations and an understanding of how to integrate with the administration and front of house operations
5. Working knowledge of event production (including but not limited to audio, lighting, video, and rigging elements)
6. Strong communication skills
7. Preferred experience with touring and working with labor unions
