Summary
National Geographic Society is looking for a creative thinker and highly motivated marketer and idea generator who can oversee partner-specific multi-media proposals to individuals, foundations and corporations to support the organization’s philanthropic work. The position will report to the SVP of Marketing & Brand.

The ideal candidate will be quick, collaborative, and confident – someone who has the drive and ingenuity to develop new, innovative funding opportunities and communicate them in compelling, exciting ways; someone who can handle a robust workload; manage senior and junior members of the team; and has firm roots in idea generation, copywriting, design, and effective marketing.
Responsibilities
1. Generate “big ideas” for proposals to individuals, foundations, corporations, working collaboratively with Partnership and Program teams. Package Programmatic opportunities into “big asks”. (50 %)
2. Oversee RFP response to ensure the NGS value proposition is front and center. Determine partner benefits and manage fulfillment. Ensure consistency of messaging and brand identity across all partnership communications. (10 %)
3. Work closely with creative team to develop innovative, brand-driven partnership marketing & communication materials. Drive innovation across the team. (25%)
4. Stay current on trends in philanthropic and foundation giving as well corporate social responsibility and brand partnerships. (5%)
5. Manage two Partnership Marketing Directors and two Coordinators, providing creative and writing expertise, ideation and brainstorming leadership, and a keen editorial eye. (10%)
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
10+ years of marketing expertise and at least 5 years of management experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Strong interpersonal and written communications skills
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and consistently deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive, creative, and entrepreneurial spirit
• Team player with diplomatic temperament
• Mastery of Keynote/PowerPoint, working knowledge of design software a plus

Four staff members.
