In order to increase our effectiveness in helping people improve their lives through learning, we are looking for an experienced Project Co-ordinator at Pearson Education Africa,to assist the Production Manager with management of suppliers, maintaining and improving current systems, including archiving, and ensuring that all production processes are correctly followed.
Key Responsibilities
• Trafficking and tracking of production suppliers
• Checking of pdf files to ensure correctly packaged for printing
• Ensuring work orders are issued to production suppliers, signed, returned and filed
• Keeping of an accurate tracking system and following-up to ensure work is delivered on time
• Management of databases, including supplier databases
• Administrative and logistical support to the Production Manager as well as the Editorial Services team
• Assisting with submissions as these arise, including timeous manufacture of docutech and/or dummy copies, as required
• To operate within budget parameters and company policy and procedures as defined from time to time
• To ensure that high standards of quality and ethics are maintained in every aspect of the operation and to bring to the attention of the MD any concerns or issues relating to these which fall outside of your direct sphere of influence
• Understanding the problems and concerns of others so as to assist colleagues deliver products on time to market.

Experience
• Experience in educational publishing
• Maths and Sciences background
• Project management skills are a requirement.
• Familiarity with typesetting and design programs
• Understanding of repro processes and pdf creation.

Qualifications
• Diploma or other training in production and print processes
• Computer literacy (MS Office, internet and other business systems) is a requirement
