Responsibilities
Position Overview: The Manager of Brand Marketing supports the Director and Vice President of Marketing in the development and implementation of strategies that support the growth of the MSNBC audience and brand. S/he will work closely with members of the broader NBC News and MSNBC Marketing department, and with MSNBC editorial teams, to support the maintenance and growth of both the network and individual show brands. The position is based in New York City.
Responsibilities:
Play an integral role in executing the overall MSNBC brand communications plan.
• Work in lock-step with Creative and Media teams to ensure all brand- and show-level creative is brought to life strategically and in a timely fashion across owned and paid media.
• Coordinate with editorial teams, in-house Creative and Production teams, and agency in order to facilitate campaign shoots with talent.
• Be a voracious consumer of MSNBC content, and actively identify content that can be leveraged for promotional use.
• Work closely with partner departments, including Communications, Sales, Programming and Affiliate Marketing, to ensure accuracy and consistency in communication of MSNBC brand.
Support brand and audience maintenance and growth for a portfolio of MSNBC shows.
• Drive strategy for and manage execution of campaigns for shows in assigned portfolio.
• Manage shows’ day-to-day marketing needs, including creation and communication of multi-platform topical promotion.
• Serve as primary filter to ensure all show-related marketing/promotion is driven by and connected to overarching show brand positioning.
Strategize new, innovative and non-traditional ways to market MSNBC in order to fuel growth of the audience and brand; focus on gaining and retaining younger audiences.
• Ideate and execute digital and social content extensions of brand and show creative that drive awareness of and affinity for MSNBC and show brands.
• Maintain active relationships with digital and social teams to bring content extensions to life across digital and social platforms.
• Collect and apply consumer insights in order to inform strategies to promote MSNBC to new audiences.
Meaningfully contribute to strategy and execution of on-site activation at special events and live remote telecasts.
Collaborate with sales and strategic partnerships teams to fulfill marketing elements of partnerships/packages.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to work in New York City.
• Readiness to work outside standard business hours when necessary, including on weekends.
• 5+ years of professional marketing experience; brand marketing experience at an agency or media company is strongly preferred.
