Responsibilities
The Senior Programmer Analyst’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and deliver technology solutions related to the Guest and Team Member experience. This includes writing, coding, testing, analyzing and delivering both hardware and software programs and applications. The Senior Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify technology solutions throughout the project life cycle. The position will also coordinate the transition of completed project solutions to various IT Operational support teams.
This position is based in Orlando, Florida and may require travel to other NBCUniversal parks and properties on occasion.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, run and monitor software tests on new and existing systems for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
• Drive the documentation of system business requirements, technical requirements, specifications, and test cases on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
• Research, design, and deliver hardware and software solutions
• Support Release Management and Change Control processes along with other UPT Compliance Initiatives.
• Collaborate with business analysts, programmer analysts and architects in conceptualizing and developing of new software programs and applications.
Qualifications/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• REQUIRED
◦ Javascript (ECMAScript 5+)
# Understanding of Javascript coding methods and best practices.
# Framework experience in one or more frameworks: Angular, React, Knock Out, etc.
# Experience with JQuery and Modernize libraries
◦ Experience using JSON, REST APIs, and Asynchronous calls
◦ Experience with CSS, Bootstrap and UI Components
◦ Experience with unit testing and testing harness tools such as Karma, Protractor
◦ Experience with Build and Deploy tools like Grunt, NPM, Express
◦ Experience with leveraging MVC design pattern
◦ Understanding of SQL or No-SQL database concepts
# Creation/Execution of queries
# Data model
• PREFERRED
◦ Experience with .NET C# for hardware integrations
◦ Understanding of Continuous Integration
◦ Experience implementing tablet and/or kiosk solutions
◦ Experience using GitHub
◦ Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Scaled Agile Framework
◦ Familiarity with network concepts and architectural design
◦ Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it pertains to hardware and software solutions
◦ Familiarity with PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, or EMV
◦ Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience desired in one or more of the following fields: Computer Information Technology, Computer Programming and Analysis, Industrial Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology.
EXPERIENCE: 5-7+ years equivalent work experience. Experience preferred in project management, business analysis, or system design. Conflict resolution and problem solving techniques required. Good presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills required.
• Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams across all levels of the organization.
• Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct research into software and hardware products and solutions.
• Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience developing unit test cases and plans.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• On-call availability on an occasional basis.
• May require working hours outside of typical business hours which could include nights and weekends as necessary to meet project deadlines and operational support needs.
• Experience with integrating systems desired.
APPLICATION EXPERIENCE:
• Point-of-sale experience desired (Galaxy Ticketing, Omnico’s Freedom POS, etc)
• Mobile / tablet application design and development experience desired
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Works with internal business clients and external vendors. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical manuals and procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw graphs, and interpret spreadsheets. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to build and lead a team in completing a project.
