Responsibilities
● Serve as the operational owner of media management system infrastructure including file servers,
storage and networking – monitoring systems and pro-actively identifying issues
● Work with related teams to ensure infrastructure requirements are met and maintained, including
leading support response and escalation when issues occur
● Manage change control on all server systems; coordinating outages and change windows for
deployments, upgrades and other system-related installs
● Liaise with other internal teams such as Engineering, Operations and Corporate IT, to ensure
proper implementation, availability and operation of media management systems
● Perform common software administrative tasks on systems including user rights/group
management, workflow maintenance, and interface configuration
● Serve as quality assurance (QA) and testing lead; help coordinate, write and execute test plans for
both off-the-shelf and customized software applications
● Respond to user requests and issues related to media management systems as needed by either
forwarding users to the proper support teams or addressing issues directly
● Train other staff on systems and assist in developing application support strategies and coverage
schedules
● Develop and maintain documentation for all procedures related to common administrative tasks,
changes and infrastructure; establish documentation procedures for all technical operations staff to
follow
● Develop and operationalize system monitoring techniques and reporting methods, providing both
issue notification and long-term performance trends to the team, as well as metrics for senior
management

● Work periods may include day, night, weekend and holiday hours
Qualifications/Requirements
Desired skills and qualifications:
● Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, MIS, Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Technology, Computer Science or related physical sciences. Master’s degree preferred.
● Minimum of three to five years of experience in:
○ Information Technology operations and management, preferably with a media company.
○ Administering Windows (server-based) operating systems with knowledge of Microsoft
system and 3rd party administrative tools
○ Administering Linux or Unix-based operating systems with extensive knowledge of both
system and 3rd party administrative tools
● Minimum one to three years of experience in:
○ Working with relational databases, with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL experience
preferred
○ Working with virtualization technologies
Additional preferred requirements:
● Some experience with enterprise-level Media Asset Management or Digital Asset Management
systems, ideally with Blue Order or Avid Interplay MAM and Interplay PAM
● Some experience with video production and post-production technologies and workflows preferred,
with knowledge of Avid editing systems a plus
● Some experience working with software development teams preferred
● Knowledge of key components involved in storage systems including SAN, NAS and archive
systems (LTO). Some experience with Isilon, and FrontPorch preferred.
● Extensive knowledge of networking and protocols such as TCP and UDP, along with some
knowledge of routers and firewall management
● Self-organized with significant attention to detail and procedures
● Experience supporting end users, including all levels of management with exceptional customer
service
● Ability to follow through on support requests in a timely manner, escalating to other members of the
team or manufacturer support when appropriate
● Ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic work environment
● Ability to work independently and with other members of a team
● Proven leadership qualities
● Demonstrated significant and strong interpersonal and written communications skills
● Ability to lift heavy equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs.)
● Proficient English and Spanish Oral and Written Communication
