Responsibilities
The Shop Assistant is responsible for requesting and analyzing quotes for special items, repairs, and restocking of shop materials from preapproved vendors as well as seeking the proper approval to proceed with purchase orders.

Responsible for analyzing and evaluating preapproved suppliers/vendors based on price, quality, and delivery speed
Works in collaboration with the Shop Specialist in identifying and selecting preapproved vendors/suppliers
Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable prices
Requests quotes from approved vendors/suppliers and negotiates prices prior to submitting to Shop Manager, Shop Specialist, and/or Shop Supervisor
Assists in establishing good business practices with vendors/suppliers in regards to delivery and/or pick up times to ensure efficiency
Responsible for updating the ShopTech system upon confirmation of received orders from Set Builder Coordinators and/or Shop Supervisor
Ensures quality control of received items and if necessary meets with Shop personnel and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective actions such as returns or exchanges
Responsible for maintaining records of items bought, costs, deliveries, and product performance as well as vendor information in ShopTech software
Follows up on pending repairs and informs Shop personnel when equipment/tools are ready to be used and/or needs to be eliminated from inventory
Provides additional support to the team of Set Builders and/or Carpentry personnel as needed
Assists in keeping records of financial transactions (i.e. P-Card transaction), invoices, and receipts
Responsible for ensuring the proper and safe usage of assigned company vehicle(s) to and from studios and other different locations as needed
Works under the direct supervision of the Shop Specialist and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo Studios’ infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures
Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment
Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader
Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to your manager, business and EHS Leader
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience working with vendors/suppliers for a manufacturing company or similar field
Exhibits working knowledge of health and safety requirements
Ability to lift over 20 lbs of item(s) used in the shop
Must be able to perform physical activities required of this position which includes, but is not limited to, climbing, lifting, balancing stooping, and handling of materials
Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish
Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions

Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Must be fluent in English and Spanish (speak, read & write)
Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to work regular hours.
