Responsibilities
NBC Connecticut is looking for a dynamic, aggressive Account Executive who will develop a solid understanding of our ad products and have solid consultative selling skills to be able to best develop solutions to meet client needs and close deals. Revenue closure, account relationship building, customer satisfaction, and product implementation success are key responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities
Own, manage, and develop relationships with clients, agencies, and advertisers through day-to-day interaction
Generate/increase revenue from an established account list; Meet and exceed annual revenue goals
Identify, target, develop, and secure new business and revenue streams for NBC Connecticut utilizing a variety of multi-platform opportunities
Create customized solutions for clients that will demonstrate the effectiveness of NBC Connecticut
Execute elements, monitor performance, and ensure customer satisfaction
Create and manage new customer base, looking beyond the traditional media customer
Carry out sales strategies and action plans for identified targets of opportunity
Maintain a current knowledge of ratings, programs and competitive conditions in the market
Actively grow industry intelligence
Embrace, understand, target, pitch, and secure new sources of advertising revenue for NBC Connecticut
Create customized solutions for local clients that will demonstrate the power of NBC Owned TV Stations with the ultimate goal of shifting advertising funds to NBC Connecticut
Identify and market to previously undeveloped advertisers the value and benefit of TV, mobile, digital, out-of-home and any other multi-platform advertising
Develop growth revenue by focusing on “conversion” targets from other media including radio, print, online, and cable.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of sales experience
Bachelor’s degree
Proven track record of developing creative solutions for customers' marketing objectives and garnering revenue from non-traditional sources.
Minimum 1 year of working knowledge with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Sales skills with a record of attaining or exceeding quotas

Desired Characteristics
At least 2 years of experience in media sales
Minimum 1 year of experience selling digital/internet products negotiating and marketing skills
Demonstrated sales problem-solving skills
Ability to find and develop non-traditional advertising
Has a track record of generating new business
Demonstrates the ability to set goals, create and execute on actions and sales plans
Knowledge of sales computer applications
Ability to quickly understand and size up opportunity and/or problems and respond with creative ideas and solutions
