DESCRIPTION:
The Interactive Media Research team at Showtime Networks is seeking a paid intern from May 2017 to May 2018 (full time summer/part time school year). The intern will have daily tracking, data set cleanup, and reporting obligations, as well as the opportunity to assist on regular requests involving analysis and visualization of large data sets for senior management. The ideal candidate will not only enjoy working with numbers but also have a strong interest in the television industry.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Monitor competitive On Demand and Digital landscape, using Rentrak and competitor's websites.
• Track and analyze the performance of Showtime programming on demand and online, utilizing various sources to assemble, clean, and analyze data
• Maintain and distribute various reports for tracking audience data
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Current undergraduate student (rising junior or above)
• Strong interest in the Cable/Entertainment industry
• 2.50 GPA or above
• Submission of a cover letter - required
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work and prioritize work assignments
• Able to provide administrative support as needed
Preferred:
• Cable television experience a plus
• Active participation in extracurricular activities; clubs; and/or associations. Leadership positions while maintaining an above-average GPA, a plus
• Prior internship experience in a related field, a plus
• Must possess an aptitude for working with numbers - very comfortable working with and manipulating large data sets
• Highly analytical with a high level of attention to detail
• Experience with data visualization tools a plus
