Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) Finance is seeking an analyst to work in the third party financial reporting group. The role of the analyst will primarily be to support SPHE’s 3rd Party business. Secondarily, the analyst will support the home entertainment finance team in its monthly close. The third party reporting group works closely with several departments within SPHE (e.g., general ledger, credit and collections, sales/sales reporting team) to insure all reporting and monthly estimates are accurate and complete.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Credit & Accounts Receivable Support (25%)
◦ Preparing monthly reconciliations between the AR sub-ledger and general ledger for DHE and CDD
◦ Monthly AR reports for treasury
◦ Quarterly Bad Debt Reserve schedule
◦ Yearly Schedule XI for Corporate
◦ Credit Risk Management support
◦ Bi-Annual Credit Limit Renewals
• Assisting with audit requests (TBD)
◦ Pulling supporting documentation for audits
◦ Creating Horizon reports for post audit claims
• 3rd Party Business (60%)
◦ Primary liaison for 3rd Party financial questions (5%)
◦ Based on a thorough understanding of SPHE’s 3rd Party contracts (especially distribution rights and fee calculations), assisting in the creation of monthly P&L statements for 3rd Party product (50%)
# Run P&L in SAP or JDE
# Analyze for accuracy
# Submit payment requests via Ariba
◦ Create and publish Monthly 3rd Party Label Financial Reports for Management and individual 3rd Parties (20%)
# Run P&L in SAP or JDE
# Analyze for accuracy
# Submit to Management and/or 3rd Parties
◦ Run various monthly/weekly reports that 3rd party customers require (5%)
◦ Forecasting monthly third party cash disbursements (5%)
◦ Maintain 3rd Party Finance Tracker with deal terms and requirements (5%)
• Trade Accrual Support (15%)
◦ Compiling Future Buy information
◦ Compiling information for Customer Specific / Contract related trade accruals
◦ Creating better capture of Deduction information for Trade Accruals
◦ Translating Deduction/Future Buys to title for GL
◦ Creating Lookbacks for PWC auditors
◦ Creating Deduction reports for Sales Planning and Sales Reporting
◦ Work with IT routinely to identify opportunities to improve system efficiencies (mass maintenance and reporting).
• Ad hoc requests/projects as needed
Requirements:
The SPHE environment is fast paced and dynamic; the candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. The position requires strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail. The position also requires strong written/verbal communication skills. The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics from an accredited four-year university. This position requires advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP, Business Objects/Insight, and JD Edwards would be a plus. 3 – 4 years of relevant work experience is required, within entertainment would be a plus.
