Job Description
Engadget is looking for candidates with editorial, management and hiring experience who have a passion for finding and telling stories about technology and its effects on our lives. You’ll work closely with editorial leadership to create unique and innovative social media campaigns to grow and strengthen Engadget’s audience across all platforms. You must be fluent in major social media platforms and their metrics, and use that data to inform your work. You should be creative, flexible, and collaborative in your thinking. Problem solving skills are required. Travel is part of the job.
Responsibilities:
• Work with editorial to promote and tell stories that connect with our audience
• Use analytics and social publishing tools to find better ways to grow our audience
• Analyze and refine story and video publishing strategies and recirculation processes
• Work with other Aol editorial, comms, and marketing teams to promote Engadget’s work
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 1+ years experience managing a team
• 2+ years editorial experience
• 2+ years experience working with social media in a professional capacity
• Must have a deep understanding of major social media channels and the desire to learn the unique audience habits of each, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and Periscope
• Must have internal and external communication skills and a demonstrated ability to write for the web
• Must know the technology space well, exercise good news judgement, and have a passion for the stories we tell
• Must have experience using Parse.ly, Simple Reach, SocialFlow, Facebook Insights, Omniture and Google Analytics (or equivalents), and willingness to learn and master new, similar tools
