Director of Marketing position is designed to help lead marketing initiatives related to food/beverage & non-endemic advertising categories. The ideal candidate will be an integrated marketer who has knowledge in both digital and non-digital media channels. This person will be a creative thinker, strategic problem solver, and team mentor focused on driving growth.
Responsibilities:
• Lead planning and strategic thinking for all marketing related activities
◦ Build efficient and effective go to market plans to accomplish both short and long-term business goals
◦ Bring new, creative ideas to go to market
◦ Help shape the value proposition, positioning and messaging strategy for all marketing efforts across customer touch-points
◦ Navigate through a large organization to sell through new initiatives if necessary
• Conduct and analyze internal and external data/research to determine competitive advantages
• Identify, interpret and capitalize on marketing and customer insights to drive growth in each business unit.
• Develop and execute fully integrated campaigns for each business unit including digital, social media, email, print, PR and event components
• Work with marketing analytics on the measurement of campaign initiatives. Recommend new strategies based on performance to achieve targeted ROI goals
• Stay ahead of trend when determining new media outlets that would benefit The Daily Meal/tronc (i.e. Social Media, Digital Marketing, Mobile Solutions, etc.)
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams and outside agencies/partners as needed
• Development of category & client proposals, decks and presentations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications required, Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum ten years of marketing experience required
• Experience with digital and non-digital marketing tactics
• Great multi-tasker with a strong work ethic
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to create a fun, cooperative work environment
• Demonstrated success throughout career
REVENUE/BUDGETARY/STAFF RESPONSIBILITY
• Manage a multi-product marketing budget
• Manage, mentor and empower a creative marketing team
