We are looking for a Program Manager to work out of our Chandler, AZ office. This role will be responsible for the coordination of multiple projects related to Pearson's programs and will steer, lead, and control projects to a successful completion including business benefit delivery, on-schedule, on-budget.
Additionally in this role, one will work with constituent Program Leads and Project Managers to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program.
What you will be doing…
• Engage senior management sponsors in a collaborative, confident, professional and influential manner to develop project and program objectives, deliverables, scope and structure, and provide weekly & monthly performance reporting against program objectives to stakeholders
• Support product development initiatives, promoting cross-functional collaboration and integration while achieving targeted benefits and goals
• Lead project planning in a wide cross-functional environment
• Recommend improvements to project management policies and guidelines
What we are looking for…
Our ideal candidate will have broad project management expertise and deep knowledge of print and digital product development and software development lifecycles. You will use your advanced skills to contribute to the development of company objectives/principles, and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Having a financial and technical background is an added plus!
Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• 5-10 years program management, project management, product development, product development operations, or strategy analyst experience, or equivalent
• Comfortable working in tech-based product environment usually associated with software development to include requirements analysis, product design, change and configuration management, testing and deployment
• Experience in project managing large complex projects ($2m+/yr) to a successful conclusion
• Demonstrated experience in problem solving, development and maintenance of schedules of varying granularity
• Ability to establish management processes for the program, provide performance reporting, educate the organization on Project Management, drive schedule and sub-schedule creation and adherence, demonstrate high ethics and values; knowledge of methods, processes, tools, etc. associated with software development
• Sufficient product and process knowledge to support decomposition, planning, assessment of progress and an ability to manage risks
• Goal oriented Leader with action-focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined abilities; solid organization, communication, and team motivation skills
• Negotiation/persuasive collaboration
• Process analysis, documentation and mapping strengths
• Ability to perform well under pressure
• Must be able to travel
Formal Education or Equivalent:
• Minimum BA/BS in a Project Management, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Computer Science, Logistics, or education related discipline
• PMP Certification or Process Management is preferred!
• Expertise in Lean and/or Six Sigma a plus is preferred!
