Blackboard’s K-12 Field Marketing team is responsible for strategic marketing activities and programs designed to support the sales process, from prospecting to the close of sale and beyond, including renewal/retention support. These activities may be national in scope, or customized to specific regions or territories, account size, targeted personas, etc. Examples include lead generation programs, conferences and tradeshows, webinars and virtual events, campaigns and targeted promotions, and industry alliance programs.
The ideal candidate is energetic, forward-thinking and has a strong eye for detail with excellent communication and organizational skills. The Field Marketing Manager will need to work quickly and efficiently on several projects at one time, be result-oriented, have strong time management skills and work enthusiastically in a constantly changing environment.
The K-12 Field Marketing Manager will play an integral role in the success of the team. Specifically s/he will be responsible for:
• Day-to-day execution, tracking and optimizing of field marketing programs and activities that meet K-12 GTM objectives, monitoring progress and return on investment (ROI).
• Ownership of field marketing projects, including lead generation programs, email or social campaign coordination and execution, website and landing page maintenance, webinar coordination and client loyalty/experience program activities.
• Support fellow Field Marketing team members as needed with trade show/event coordination, alliance partner activities, and other department functions.
• Travel at least 1-2 times a year for annual company conferences (overall anticipated travel 10% of job requirement).
• Other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications
Required Skills:
• 3-5 years proven experience in Field Marketing, preferably in the education and/or technology arena.
• Experience setting up and deploying marketing programs and tactics, in particular social and email campaigns; advantage in having a working knowledge of acceptable delivery rates, open rates, click rates, etc.
• Proficiency in database management and list segmentation.
• Demonstrated strength with communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills, and short term and long term planning skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and on an ad hoc basis with marketing managers and across departments.
• Flexible and able to accommodate and adapt to changing priorities.
• Adept at written and verbal communication.
• Well organized, with ability to anticipate needs based on campaign and communication calendars.
• Able to accommodate other points of view and accept feedback.
• Accustomed to working within budget requirements and adapting as needed.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing or Communications.
Preferred Skills:
• Previous experience in the education industry and e-learning technologies.
• Background in CRM and marketing automation systems, preferably Salesforce, HubSpot and/or Eloqua, including campaign tracking mechanisms.
• Working knowledge of lead scoring, lead nurturing and content marketing programs.
• Knowledge of Web analytics, including social media (e.g. Google analytics), and ability to translate those analytics into field marketing program improvements.
