Visceral Games creates top quality games that push the boundaries of action entertainment. We have over a decade of experience at delivering high-intensity gaming experiences including the Dead Spaces Series and Battlefield Hardline. We have the stability and backing of a large company combined with the agility and fun culture of a small studio and the opportunity to make original IP. We are currently at work on a new Star wars game, creatively driven by Amy Hennig.
Visceral Games is seeking a Level Designer to create extremely fun, satisfying and polished game levels that align with our creative vision.
What the next great Level Designer will do at Visceral:
• Design major game levels that are playable, enjoyable and immersive.
• Partner with technical and game design team members to understand and address constraints while maintaining AAA quality levels
• Work in collaboration with level artists to ensure playability of levels and graphic fidelity.
• Contribute to playtests and design discussions and critiques.
• Understand, use and help improve the game editor
• Test and troubleshoot areas that are not working in the game engine and proactively fix them
• Work with Usability Lab to produce A/B tests and other pertinent usability studies.
Who you are:
• You will possess 3+ years’ experience in video game level design with experience on at least one AAA title and
• Experience using scripting languages and level design tools
• Comfort and capability in creative and technical design discussions
• Keen understanding of the environmental aesthetics
• Understanding of function vs. form relationships, as well as what makes a game level fun and intriguing
• Must work well in a team spanning artists, programmers, and designers

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience/training
