Responsibilities
The Application Support & Technical Project Manager will oversee application development from conception through production release. This role will be responsible for planning, tracking, coordinating and communicating on all aspects of application involving cross-functional teams. In addition, this role will also work closely with the technology and functional teams to ensure releases and timelines are being prioritized and managed properly.
Ensure that all assigned project requests are executed on-time, on-budget and built first time right.
Learn, comply, and effectively utilize established project management methodology
Learn and adhere to internal project governance processes and tool sets
Manage assigned projects according to the NBCUniversal Project Management Standard
Participate in a weekly Project Review for assigned projects
Maintain at least a 95% Project Review average
Prepares a Daily Status Report (DSR) summarizing their accomplishments for that day and their priorities for the next day
Effectively lead project teams
Develop/foster relationships with project team members and external partners
INITIATE: Closely collaborates with the business teams to gather project requirements and to determine duration of Planning
INITIATE: Conducts facilitated sessions with the business teams and technical teams to define the specific requirements , bring matrixed team/resources develop the Charter
PLAN: Develops project work plans, roles matrix and communication plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
PLAN: Identifies matrixed resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
EXECUTE: Direct and manage project execution
MONITOR/CONTROL: Develop solutions to project issues and effectively communicate solutions to the stakeholders
MONITOR/CONTROL: Identifies and logs any issues and establishes a Risk Assessment for any issue causing the project’s health to decline
MONITOR/CONTROL: Schedules and conducts meetings as needed, noting agreements, issues, and task assignments. Prepares and publishes minutes for all meetings within 24 hours.
MONITOR/CONTROL: Provides weekly project status to management / stakeholders
MONITOR/CONTROL: Manages project budget via internal tool sets and Financial reports
SUPPORT: Manages all aspects of post production support including incidents by leveraging the processes and procedures to engage cross –functional teams, own and drive issues to resolution, provide root cause analysis and implement preventative resolutions.
Qualifications/Requirements
Prefer B.S. or B.A. degree
Prefer PMP and/or PMI Methodologies certified or 5 years of experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in implementing of infrastructure technologies
Strong program and project management skills. Proven experience managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously to successful completion
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Project and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and possess solid basic computer skills.
Desired Characteristics
Tableau development and project management experience
Familiarity with or certification in a Project Management for software development (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
Experience managing project budgets
Has managed project teams over multiple geographic / international locations
Extremely organized and articulate
Strong analytical problem solving skills
Has completed some formal training in project management
Diplomacy – In the most difficult situations, maintains positive attitude and relationships with tact and efficiency not appearing frustrated or upset
Team Player – Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team of professional and willingness to give assistance to co-workers to achieve departmental goals
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, including the ability to multi-task and juggle many competing priorities and deadlines
