The Account Director, Monetization & Operations at Meredith Xcelerated Marketing (MXM) oversees the monetization strategy and publisher business operations for our client’s award-winning, brand-building CRM media platform. The position is also maintains MXM client relationships to ensure a high level of satisfaction and increase client revenues.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to contributing to leading print and digital monetization strategy, managing all revenue streams including advertising sales, and leading business operations that support monetization. These business operations include sales-marketing, campaign management, and ad product. Responsibilities also include account management and staff planning to ensure the business is resourced properly to achieve business objectives. This exciting position is both internal and external facing, and is located in our New York City or Chicago office.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader and collaborator with print and digital general management or sales expertise. The ability to build consensus among internal and external stakeholders, lead a cross-functional team, think creatively and critically, drive the business forward, and produce results are essential to this role. A client-centric focus and action-orientation are critical to success.
Essential Job Functions
Account Management & Team Leadership:
• Expands existing services by leveraging client relationships, client feedback or unmet needs
• Initiates and manages processes related to pricing and budgets. Supports Group Account Director in developing new or renewal contracts
• Interfaces with clients, MXM team members, sister companies, and partners to ensure projects are on target with objectives, budget and schedule. Intercedes between client and team for issues related to changes in project scope, budget or strategic direction
• Ensure team is trained and skills are continually developed and team is functioning at high level
Monetization Strategy and Publisher Operations: Lead, manage and collaborate with internal and external team members to support revenue growth.
• Identify, vet and implement new monetization partners or products for print and digital properties, by collaborating with internal and external tech teams and stakeholders
• Manage and maintain relationships and contracts with third party partners that support sales-marketing and monetization
• Guide and lead multiple aspects of publisher operations including inventory management, advertiser specs, rate cards, ad product launch, ad tech coordination
• Responsible for P&L of magazine and collaborating with consumer marketing team, manager and client to drive brand and financial health
• Develop and present monthly financial reports and inventory analysis to business stakeholders
Sales Marketing & Campaign Execution:
• Contribute to and lead the development of of sales-marketing materials that promote the magazine to the advertiser marketplace including the General Presentation, Media Kit, Edit Calendar, Capabilities Toolkit and Sell Sheets
• Oversee RFP response and the delivery of quality proposals tailored to advertiser objectives
• Direct and oversee print and digital campaign execution and management
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements|All must be met to be considered
Education:
4-year degree in Marketing, advertising or other related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate degree in Marketing or business highly preferred.
Experience:
8+ years of successful experience in marketing and advertising in the food/food media marketplace. Past experience supervising or manager 1 or more employees is highly preferred.
