The Data Analyst will be responsible for turning data into insightful information, by developing and executing standardized reporting and analysis to provide clear insights on viewership trends, customer behavior, marketing activities as well as subscription lifecycle.
• Oversee viewership demand generation analytics and reporting, which includes proposing, driving creation of and managing metrics and analyses that monitor and improve content programming and promotional tactic effectiveness.
• Analyze subscriber acquisition tactics, conversion rates and historical data to identify significant trends and drivers.
• Make recommendations and act as a thought partner to develop subscriber acquisition and retention initiatives.
• Assist in the development A/B feature and user experience scenarios and monitor results of customer engagement initiatives. Propose recommendations based on the analysis of those results.
• Develop and execute standardized reporting and analysis to improve subscriber behavior knowledge.
• Retrieve and analyze complex and large data sets to provide insights on customer life cycle and customer engagement.
• Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analysis.
• Develop and maintain predictive models for subscriber churn based on consumer segmentation.
• Perform comprehensive analysis to support ad-hoc reporting requests.
• Provide support for new functionalities, features, and product launches within the Starz SVOD ecosystem. Assist in the definition of success and delivery of a marketing strategy for new releases.
Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Marketing or Finance, MBA preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Business, Financial or Systems Analyst.
• In depth experience with large, complex data sources.
• Analytical and qualitative skills with an ability to confirm assumptions and concepts using data and metrics.
• Several years of experience as a BI Engineer, Business/Financial Analyst or Systems Analyst preferably in an internet-based or a subscription product company with large, complex data sources.
• Proven analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and concepts.
• SQL writing skills and solid experience with Excel and working with databases.
• Familiarity with platforms such as: Google Analytics, Conviva, Mixpanel, TUNE, Omniture etc.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence internally and externally.
• Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals.
• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to analyze issues and create appropriate tactical plans.
• Meticulous attention to detail: ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering your quality bar.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization.
• The candidate needs at least 3 years of experience working with popular analytics services such as Google Analytics, Tune, Tableau, Excel, Adobe/Omniture, or equivalent.
• Not required, but preferable to have candidate have a working understanding of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) as well as Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
