Responsibilities
NBCUniversal is looking for a Director of Digital and Cross-Platform Ad Sales Research to solve for some of today’s biggest and most exciting challenges in the premium video space. This innovative thinker will be a key figure in developing distribution research, determining social media measurement principles and guiding strategic initiatives across non-linear platforms (mobile, VOD, over-the-top consumption, etc). The Director will work closely with NBCUniversal’s digital partners, including Apple, YouTube, Hulu, to develop research-driven solutions which identify the value proposition of our partnership for advertisers. Simultaneously this researcher will leverage their expertise in the measurement space determine KPIs for our portfolio of assets in the social media space, and help establish best practices across greater ad sales positioning efforts. They will also be responsible for guiding some of the great minds already in place on the Digital Ad Sales Research team through daily management and career guidance.
This role will report to the Vice President of Digital Ad Sales Research & Measurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determine measurement approach, value proposition and ad sales positioning for NBCUniversal with its suite of digital distribution partners
Work with Research teams at Apple News, Hulu, YouTube, Snapchat and others
Develop ad sales positioning using research for NBCUniversal’s digital portfolio
Work with social listening vendor partners to determine social media measurement strategy
Assess new proprietary metrics which help quantify value of NBCU in the social landscape
Generate ad hoc and campaign specific insights to help drive business decisions, and revenue
Day-to-day oversight of daily operations for the Digital and Cross-Platform Ad Sales Research team
Train teammates on digital measurement, methodological best practices, and syndicated digital research products
Management of one Research Manager, and one Research Analyst
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred in a relevant field (Data, Media, Statistics, etc)
6+ years experience in digital research or analytics, preferably at a relevant digital video destination
Desired Characteristics
Extensive knowledge of digital measurement (tagging, SDK implementation, attribution and effectiveness studies) on behalf of advertiser campaigns
Knowledge of cross-platform media landscape including desktop / mobile, OTT, STB VOD, and linear television consumption
Advanced facility with Analytics toolsets including Adobe, Google, YouTube, Facebook Insights, etc.
Mastery of Microsoft Office
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Experience managing people / teams
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
