Responsibilities
The Marketing Director position is responsible for working with key NBCU stakeholders to market and increase sales for NBC digital entertainment. Reporting to the VP, Network Partnerships - NBC Digital, this integrated marketing position will act as the primary conduit between NBC digital/site team and the sales team to effectively translate a brand’s/client’s needs into strategic, actionable digital programs from ideation through campaign launch.
The Marketing Director’s areas of focus include:
Monetization of NBC digital platforms (websites, mobile sites, app, VOD, social channels, creating strategic, best-in-class pitch decks that present our digital offerings as a “must buy”
Develop sales packages rooted in demographic insights
Work with research to access to relevant information on an on-going basis and include in sales collateral
Collaborate with Digital Edit/Product/Social teams to develop new creative opportunities for upfront/scatter market
Ongoing development & refinement go-to-market strategy and positioning focused on video, show specific, and cross-property/platform marketing initiatives
Drive innovation – develop fresh ideas to leverage NBC digital/social assets across all platforms and drive revenue
Spearhead development of ad sales partnership opportunities across: Buzzfeed, Vox, Snapchat, etc.
Share digital insights and learnings across the organization
Core Responsibilities
MONETIZATION
Client-Specific RFPs & Brainstorms: partner with sales to formulate marketable sales strategies that are customized to fit specific client objectives; includes the “big idea” brainstorming and liaising with site editorial/production teams to create compelling NBC digital sales programs (reactive sales support)
Develop New Sales Opportunities: identify high-interest experiences, new site-specific content features, and emerging ad platforms that will serve as compelling thought starters for client conversations (proactive sales support)
Optimize Sales Campaigns: assist in managing post-sell process to help address campaign questions/refinements and maximize campaign delivery
STRATEGY
Go-to-Market: partner with the VP Marketing and sales leadership to constantly refine NBC digital go-to-market strategy to stay competitive and relevant within the evolving digital landscape
Packaging: create, socialize and execute packaging strategies that leverage the NBC brands; identify cross-site opportunities for potential increase in overall client spend
Products: collaborate with site teams to identify and develop new emerging ad opportunities around major product offerings including Mobile (e.g. iPhone apps), Social Media, VOD, OTT, and Multi-Platform Live Interactive experiences
MESSAGING
Sales Collateral: create and manage portfolio of NBC digital sales materials, programming/events show sheets, video quarterly decks, case studies, highlights one-sheets, etc.
Internal Communication/Facilitation
Act as the central point of contact for inbound NBC marketing requests and liaise with all appropriate NBCU groups (digital sales, on-air marketing/sales, legal, research, etc.) to facilitate efficient and transparent communication
Educate internal constituents on NBC digital strategy and drive top of mind awareness within sales organization to include NBC opportunities within sales proposals
Develop/Implement processes to facilitate the most efficient and timely communication between Ad Sales and site teams on a consistent basis
Advertising & Sponsorships: evaluate opportunities to promote NBC digital through event sponsorships, advertising and other channels
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience at an agency, media company, sales organization or in strategy, where the individual was responsible for presentation, creative and promotion development
5+ years of digital experience required
Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred

Robust understanding of advertising within the digital eco-system
Extensive digital sales packaging experience including both the creative (“big idea”) component and the practical (go-to-market/execution) aspects
Solid project management, marketing and strategy experience
Strong interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead interdepartmental teams and influence internal and external clients
Familiarity with standard digital analytics tools (Omniture, @Plan, comScore, etc.) and ability to derive insights from the data
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
