DESCRIPTION:
This is a position for someone who is passionate about music, radio, and loves to engage the public. Job responsibilities include working with radio talent and the digital director to conceive and execute an engaging social media strategy across CBS Radio’s three music stations in Detroit, including WOMC, WYCD and 987 AMP Radio. The job includes executing CBS Radio’s social media messages and interactions across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and other platforms as they emerge.
Job duties include contributing innovative content for all designated social media outlets, researching and advising others in the organization regarding brand and social media best practices as algorithms and platforms evolve. Reinforcing the stations and their brand. Developing creative online engagement tactics in cooperation with editorial, programming, sales, and app development teams in support of traffic and branding strategy and goals. Frequently meeting tight deadlines. Identifying social media opportunities for sales, marketing and programming. Using live tools to build excitement about station events, including concerts, events, and contests and to create buzz in the audience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Minimum of 2 years of experience with social media or digital journalism. Past experience in entertainment or music space and/or spoken word-format radio preferred.
*Knowledge of social networking platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube.
*Proven track record running social. *A healthy sense of entrepreneurship and creativity.
*Attention to detail, and a love of analytics.
*Superior and persuasive communication skills, including the ability to proofread.
*Possess a balance of creativity with good analytical skills.
*The ability to work quickly and multitask.
*An appreciation of music, pop culture, entertainment, news and current events.
*Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Marketing, Media, Communications or Journalism is preferred.
