Pearson Production / Operations team is seeking an Editorial & Design Production Manager to be accountable for the production delivery of print and digital products through management of the vendors (local and overseas) who provide editorial, design/typesetting and other production-related services for the Pearson Australia Schools team.
As the successful candidate, you will bring your experience in budget management, cost-tracking and reporting, to ensure editorial and typesetting/design budgets are not exceeded. You will be competent in managing production schedules and allocating the appropriate vendor to project task and timeframe. You will take ownership of the ongoing recruitment and management of a scalable high-quality vendor resource pool, including a performance management framework for editorial and design/typesetting vendors, that ensures that new vendors are effectively on-boarded and poor performance is recognized quickly and remediated.
Qualifications
• Five or more years Editorial or Publishing industry experience
• Experience in a Management role
• Experience managing the work and performance of vendors and/or freelancers
• Experience setting, managing and reporting on budgets and costs
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat on a PC platform
• Good relationship building and liaison skills
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Ability to prioritise workload while maintaining strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation/persuasion skills
• Must be customer focused with a flexible and adaptable attitude.
• Relevant Editorial or Publishing Qualification (preferable)
• Strong recruitment and selection skills (preferable)
