The mobile gaming market continues to grow exponentially year over year and EA’s portfolio of world-class brands, extensive independent developer network, and ability to create original hits puts the company in a unique position to increase this leadership position.
Critical to this growth is EA’s ability to drive smart product decisions based on player analytics, market awareness, and competitive analysis. We are seeking an experienced Director of Product Management to own these efforts with our 3rd Party Development team in LA. The position has responsibility for data analysis and feature roadmap planning for the currently live Chillingo titles including Iron Force, the first online multiplayer tank arena battle game, and the recently launched multiplayer shooter hit WarFriends. This person will also guide product decisions on two projects currently in development and serve as a key member of the management team driving new strategies for developing mobile hits.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, heavily collaborative and iterative environment that champions both data and creativity in the pursuit of fun games. You should have experience playing mobile games across a wide spectrum of genres, from mass-market casual to core gaming. You should also have experience and be comfortable working in a free-to-play business model.
Responsibilities:
• Own market research/analysis and serve as the team’s industry expert on mobile gaming systems, metrics, and testing tools
• Define, design and manage the product roadmap for all games including key features that maximize acquisition, engagement, and monetization.
• Lead, mentor and grow a small team of PMs and analysts to actively service our network of games
• Define, track and dashboard all short and long term game KPIs to ensure business goals are realized
• Lead analysis of game data to inform all product decisions
• Monitor economy design, testing and tuning from concept through live service
• Own AB testing plans and operations
• Serve as the business leader for our team, coordinating closely with central EA teams including analytics, finance, marketing, and consumer insights
Required Skills/Personal Requirements:
• Passionate about mobile games
• Owned product management for a successful mobile or online free-to-play game from concept to launch to live service
• Expert on free-to-play economies and game systems
• Strong analytical skills and experience with large dataset analysis and decision making
• Experience with multivariate/AB testing technologies and methodologies
• Ability to conduct competitive analysis at industry, genre or game level to inform product
• Solid collaboration/interfacing skills to work and influence design, production and executive teams
• Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS/BA degree, ideally in quantitative discipline. MS/MBA highly preferred
• 5+ years of experience in product management in consumer web or social media, and/or experience in a top ranked management consulting firm
• 3+ years as a Product Manager, Producer or Systems Designer in the mobile games industry is highly desired
• 1+ year of experience in game live services or running software as a service
• Excel and PowerPoint wizard
