POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Development Operations Engineer Intern will play an integral role in the success of the K12 CMS Development team. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for assisting with all or some of:
• The manual creation and updating of product instances while the automation of these tasks is being programed.
• Providing QA feedback to our Dev Ops automation programmer as they build the automation processes
• DNS and Database changes in relation to the customer go public process.
• Moving data between file servers
• Defragmenting database indexes
• Updating data in customer databases
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in an environment with low tolerance for errors
• Education background in Computer Science
• Experience with Microsoft Server 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012
• Experience with Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2 and 2014
• Experience with Powershell
• Experience working with databases and writing SQL queries
• An understanding of DNS
• Availability to accommodate on-call and work outside of normal business operating hours.
• A desire to learn
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Professional appearance and mannerisms to represent Blackboard accordingly.
• Ability to maintain flexibility as roles evolve.
• Strong team work and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated individual to ensure that deadlines and objectives are achieved accurately and in a timely fashion
• Knowledge of modern business communication standards, styles, and formats
