Position Responsibilites
Blackboard’s Procurement and Operations team works across the entire organization to support the company’s efforts around procurement processes, strategic sourcing, vendor relationships, travel management and other administration aspects of the company’s global operations.
The Procurement Intern will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically s/he will be responsible for:
1. Data analysis on large data sets to provide insight and key findings
2. Assist in Strategic Sourcing spend analysis.
a. Map supply chain procurement processes for one or more areas of Blackboard.
b. Identify opportunities in procurement process for cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
c. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
3. Assist in preparing for vendor negotiations with market research and benchmarking analysis.
4. Provide assistance in preparing and running an RFP process
Professional Qualifications
Required Skills:
• Must currently be enrolled as a full-time student at a college or university
• Prefer candidate studying supply chain management, business operations, or Finance
• Must be proficient in MS Power Point, Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 10-12 weeks during the summer 2016 semester
• Have completed at least freshman year of a Bachelor’s Degree
• Have at least a 3.5/4.0 overall GPA
• Differentiating characteristics include: leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter and demonstrate leadership skills shown through involvement in professional, community, and academic extracurricular activities
