We’re looking for a Director of Communications to join Snap Inc! Working closely with the VP of Communications, you will serve as the communications ambassador and representative for Snap Inc. in the EMEA. Working from our London, UK office, you’ll be leading a strategic, close-knit team of seasoned communication professionals. As Snap Inc. continues to expand across the globe, the Director of Communications will be responsible for driving conversations with business media outlets and growing our network throughout the EMEA.
What you’ll do:
• Serve as the most senior international spokesperson for Snap Inc. in the EMEA
• Create and cultivate deep relationships with the business media in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
• Manage and expand Snap Inc.’s international communications team
• Partner with agencies as necessary to assist Snap Inc. in key regions across the EMEA
• Serve as counsel to the Snap Inc. communications executive, as well as the broader team
• Partner with public policy and international affairs leaders at Snap Inc. to respond to media inquiries, building a narrative that best represents Snap Inc.
• Be the first to respond to media inquiries and engage with key media stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
• A thoughtful, self-aware, collaborative, and motivated leader
• A proven track record for managing, shaping, and working with the media, its key industry influencers, and reporters throughout the EMEA
• Someone with deep relationships with the business media in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa – along with an openness to spending significant time in key locations, such as France, Germany, and the UAE
• Knowledge of the markets’ needs, standards, and expectations
• A natural networker and crisis-preventer — someone with the confidence to engage with media with direct, poignant, and subtle communication skills
• Someone who leads from the front and is willing to get their hands dirty
• Someone with thorough experience with and understanding of what makes a successful ground campaign
• Someone who has experience establishing a communications function from scratch — or experience inheriting and adapting a pre-existing one
• Someone who has experience developing strong relationships with agencies
• Someone who knows when it’s appropriate to leverage agencies for specific countries
• Someone with knowledge and understanding of policies in the EMEA region
• Someone with an understanding of media response best practices, in both language and timing A passion for Snapchat and creativity!
